checking your answers in multiplication

So today you will learn how to check your answers in multiplication

let us take an example of 14 x 13 = 182
now how will you see if it is correct? It is simple , first add 1+4 and 1+3 as the numbers are 14 and 13 . After adding 1+4 and 1+3 you will get 5 and 4 respectively , now multiply 5 and 4 to get 20 . Now as 20 is a two digit number add its digits 2 and 0 to get 2 again. Now 2 is our check number . Now add the digits of your answer. 1+8+2 so you will get 11 now again 11 is a two digit number so add  its digits 1+1 to get 2 so this is our substitute number . Our check number and substitute number is same so thus our answer is correct . If the check and substitute number is different , the answer is wrong.
